A Blogger Award from American Duchess

I was completely surprised when Lauren from the world-famous American Duchess blog nominated me for the “Very Inspiring Blogger” award.  It’s always so fun to get an unexpected comment about something like this, and I get to pass along the award to fifteen other bloggers, as well.  The rules for this award are:

1. Display the award and link back to the person who nominated you.

2. State 7 facts about yourself.

3. Nominate 15 bloggers for the award.

4. Notify the winners.

Here are the blogs that I’ve selected to nominate for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award:

  1. Pride & Prejudice 1995 Forever Blog – Wonderful trivia for fans of the Jennifer Ehle & Colin Firth version
  2. The Quintessential Clothes Pen – The most gorgeous historical costume reproductions!
  3. A Joy Worth Having – Lovely blog with charming retro and every-day sewing projects
  4. Lauren’s Musings Blog – Beautiful vintage dresses and more
  5. Story of A Seamstress – This seamstress just sewed her lovely 1860s wedding dress
  6. We Sew Retro – A great resource for retro fashions!
  7. A Touch of Whimsy – Lovely ballgowns and historical costumes
  8. Will a Real von Trapp Please Stand Up? – Yep, that’s right!  A real (albeit third generation) von Trapp.
  9. Duchess Kate – A wonderful news & fashion blog for all things “Catherine”.
  10. The Royal Order of Sartorial Splendor – Wedding gowns, tiaras, and outfits worn by Europe’s most famous royals
  11. O Say Can You See – The official blog of America’s National History Museum, often featuring First Ladies’ Gowns
  12. Jane Austen’s House Musem Blog – The house where Jane spent her last years
  13. Polka Polish – This girl makes some amazing retro dresses.
  14. Lass of Yesteryear – Lovely historical and retro dresses.
  15. Romantic History – Gorgeous historical reproductions of dresses.

As for the seven facts about myself, here’s what I came up with:

  1. My favorite color is lavender.
  2. I had moved fourteen times across the country (or internationally) by the time I turned eighteen.
  3. My favorite time to sew is between the hours of 9:00 pm and 1:00 in the morning…
  4. My earliest memories start at 2 years old.
  5. I love to cook and bake when I have the time.
  6. I spent quite a bit of time on stage when I was a child between ballet and theatrical productions.
  7. I have a rare talent for blinking in photographs!

So that’s the scoop for this week, and I’m working on a unique sewing project that I’ll be wearing in a location I haven’t been to for years.  I have never sewn anything remotely like this yet, so it should be exciting!

Until next time, happy sewing,

Katrina

I love it when you post random facts about yourself. How fascinating that you remember everything.
Looking foreward to seeing your next project.

  7. Congratulations on the award!!!

Your memory sounds like my younger sister’s . . . though she can’t remember *everything* that’s happened, she does have an uncanny memory for dates. I’ll ask her when something happened and she’ll say, “Oh, that was August 9th, 2009.” I, however, have to rely on the old stand-bys “Last week”, “A few months ago”, “Who knows when” . . . 🙂

    Again, congratulations! 🙂

  8. Thanks so much for the award, Katrina!! And congrats on getting it from American Duchess… super exciting! 🙂
