Edelweiss Patterns Today I’m delighted to share several beautiful creations made by customers using Edelweiss Patterns designs. I always love seeing how each seamstress makes a pattern her own, and these dresses and skirts are such wonderful examples.
First, we have Christine, who used our 1950s Sisters Dress Pattern to create matching blue “Haynes Sisters” costumes for herself —and then made miniature versions for her daughters!
To complete the White Christmas theme, she and her friend even talked their husbands into dressing as “Bob” and “Phil,” complete with sock garters and blue butterfly hair accessories. Hilarious! This “White Christmas” themed photo shoot couldn’t be more perfect. What a wonderful memory to look back on in years to come, and Christine did a fabulous job with all that sewing!
Next, Robin made this lovely warm skirt from Lucy’s Circle Skirt Pattern, View A. She writes that she is a beginner, and I believe this may even be her first skirt. Excellent work, Robin!
Robin kindly wrote, “I appreciate the work you’ve put into your beautiful patterns!” I love wearing heavier flannel skirts like this one during the winter, especially with a big, fluffy petticoat underneath. Although I already have a few (you can see pictures of them on the pattern page), this makes me feel like I need a fall and winter skirt in another color… I may have to pull out the burgundy tweed flannel I picked up at Joann’s right before it went out of business…
Amanda used our Liesl’s Dancing Dress Pattern to create this charming dress for her daughter’s performance. It looks like she paired pink satin for the lining with a sparkly organza overlay, and the result is so much fun. Her daughter must have had a wonderful time wearing it.
Susanna also created a classic Liesl’s Dancing Dress in light pink chiffon and added a narrow ruffle along the neckline yoke. She wore it to a summer wedding, and isn’t it darling? Susanna is part of our Pattern Tester’s Society and is a prolific sewer.
And finally, Lindsay is wearing a skirt made from Lucy’s Circle Skirt Pattern, sewn for her by her tailor, Eitan, in a black ponte knit. Isn’t it beautiful? It looks like just the sort of skirt you find yourself reaching for again and again because it can be worn so many different ways.
Eitan described the pattern as “well done and very easy to follow,” which I was so pleased to hear.
