This Sound of Music inspired costume features:
- Flutter sleeves
- Gathered bodice
- Flowing a-line skirt
- Fitted detached belt for a cinched silhouette
- Honeycomb Smocked or shirred panel insets at the bodice and skirt fronts for authenticity. (A complimentary smocking tutorial is available here for you. If you prefer not to smock by hand, this pattern contains easy instructions for replicating this look quickly on a sewing machine.)
- Recommended fabrics are: Chiffon, Chiffon Georgette, Voile, Batiste, Dotted Swiss, or lightweight (non-stretch) Lace. Lightweight lining can be Silk, Rayon, or Polyester. For the belt, we recommend Silk Dupioni, Silk Shantung, Taffeta, Duchess Satin, or Linen.
