Description
Maria’s Gazebo Dress is an original Edelweiss Patterns design and comes with all sizes (6-20) in the same envelope. While this dress is supposed to be late 1930s/early 1940s in style, its timeless heirloom appeal makes it suitable for dressy occasions today, whenever a feminine dress is called for…
This Sound of Music inspired dress features:
- Flutter sleeves
- Gathered bodice
- Flowing a-line skirt
- Fitted detached belt for a cinched silhouette
- Honeycomb Smocked or shirred panel insets at the bodice and skirt fronts. (A complimentary smocking tutorial is available here for you.) If you’d rather not smock by hand, the pattern gives easy instructions for replicating this look quickly on a sewing machine!
- Recommended fabrics include: Chiffon, Chiffon Georgette, Voile, Batiste, Dotted Swiss, or lightweight (non-stretch) Lace. (Dress is lined with a lightweight lining.) For the belt, we recommend Silk Dupioni, Silk Shantung, Taffeta, Duchess Satin, Linen, or a similarly sturdy, medium weight fabric.
You’ll receive an email with tracking information when your package ships, but can also track your order directly at this page for your convenience. If you need this pattern but can’t wait for shipping time, we offer this same design as an instant download digital pattern here.
