Description
Inspired by the darling white dress from “So Long, Farewell”, Liesl’s Party Dress Pattern features:
- A flattering darted bodice, sheer puffing at the neck and sleeves, and a gathered, mid-calf length skirt. The skirt could also be lengthened to the floor for a late 1940s style evening gown, or made without the lower sleeve puffing for either a day or evening 1950s option. (Video tutorial below!)
- Make this frock in a taffeta, silk dupioni or shantung, duchesse satin, linen, poplin, or polished cotton. For an heirloom touch, you have the option to hand stitch seed pearls onto the bodice as shown in the model garment.
- All sizes 6-20 are included in the same envelope, giving you lots of options for sizing. Printed in the USA on high quality white paper you can use again and again, with a full color pattern cover and easy-to-use instructions and yardage layouts.
- If you need this pattern but can’t wait for shipping time, we offer this same design as an instant download digital pattern here.
You’ll receive an email to your inbox with tracking information, but you can also track your order directly at this page for your convenience.
I’ve filmed a complimentary video tutorial that shows the sewing process for the 1950s version which you can watch below. (The construction is nearly identical for the full costume version ~ the main difference is the neckline will be made from sheer fabric instead, and you’ll keep the lower sleeve puffing):
