  1. Merry Christmas, Katrina!

I’ve been waiting to find out what you sewed for your Christmas Eve dress–it was so much fun to see what you chose. The dress turned out beautifully, and the velvet looks (and probably feels) sumptuous! I really like the sleeves! You know your fabrics well–I’m not familiar with any of the names/brands, but they bear looking into, especially after seeing what you have done with them. Red is definitely your color:). Thanks for sharing your work on your blog–it is beautiful and inspiring:)!

I love your fabric choice of red velvet, so pretty!!
And my favorite part is the bodice, it looks so detailed!

  3. Merry Christmas!!

I think you have outdone yourself this time! What a beautiful dress!

  4. Hi! I’m so excited – my sister ordered me the “Liesl’s Party Dress” pattern for Christmas and I can’t wait to get started on making it!! I like how it’s printed on a nice, strong paper rather than tissue paper. I have a feeling it’s going to be sooo much easier to use!

I hope you had a merry, merry Christmas!

    1. Thank you, Ladies! I absolutely loved doing all the hand sewing and details, and it makes me think that perhaps I should come up with reasons to wear more Victorian costumes. Also, it made my Christmas much happier knowing that I got this finished in time! On December 23rd I really wasn’t sure whether I could get the pictures done in time or not, especially since I needed to have pictures taken. In the end, I finished the dress at around 7:00 pm, and a Victorian house in the area was open until 10:00 that night for a Christmas display. So I’m so thankful it worked out!

@ Emily Faith – oh, how exciting! I would love to see pictures of your dress if you get any taken. 🙂 I really do prefer working with the higher quality thick paper instead of the tissue, as it eliminates the tearing factor and makes your patterns last longer. And I had a really wonderful Christmas, thank you!

  5. This gown is just STUNNING! I loved the details and the workmanship is tremendous. Thanks for sharing this gorgeous creation!
