Description

Lucy’s Circle Skirt Pattern is our most versatile sewing pattern, adding fashion options to your year-round wardrobe.  Inspired by the signature skirt Lucy often wore on her eponymous show in the 50s, it’s the perfect choice for everything from running errands (made in denim), to special occasions in taffeta or silk.  We’ve included three views in this 1950s skirt pattern, giving you a variety of options to suit to your preferences:

  • View A features a flattering curved cummerbund style waistband that makes the waist appear inches smaller.  (This style was designed for Lucy during her post-partum filming.)  This style looks perfect in a denim or chambray for busy days around town, or ponte knit for travel.
  • View B goes to The Nutcracker, holiday parties, and weddings with its cleverly shaped waistband that comes straight from 1950s fashion catalogs.
  • View C is the quintessential 1950s skirt with its firm, narrow waistband reminiscent of Vera Ellen’s Christmas circle skirts, or Audrey Hepburn’s skirt from Roman Holiday.
  • All sizes 6-20 are included in the same digital download.  The digital file includes detailed sewing instructions, yardage charts and layouts, plus instructions to print and assemble your pattern at home.  This pattern can be printed on both US Letter (8.5″ x 11″) and A4 paper.
  • Make it in linen, chambray, lightweight denim, ponte knit, twill, gabardine, wool and wool blends, tweed, velveteen, taffeta, heavy satin, silk dupioni, or suiting weight fabrics for an elegant garment you’ll wear for years to come.

You will receive this file on our website once you complete checkout, as well as via email within 1 hour of purchasing.  If you prefer to receive a physical pattern shipped to you in the mail, the paper version is available here.
